Well, for those that have checked my SUPERGENIE reviews on this tely, here I am with a update. It is now the middle of January and this tely is working extremely well still. In fact, I have been out comparing again and quite frankly, you will be hard pressed to beat this. The Insignia that Future Shop carries is pretty much the same tely (store brand) but minus the DVI input and other great features and they want more for it then the Digistar. Again, on the EDTV vs HDTV - Firstly, the chipset is the winner in this set. Second, when you are talking a 42 inch plasma, it is kinda of like putting a SVHS cable on a 19 inch television and expecting a better picture out of it. AINT gonna happen. That is why they dont put SVHS on 19" and smaller. The 42 inch will have minimal if not ZERO visibility difference with the human eye. and almost 4 months later, this tely is breaking in nicely. Just like a new car that need breaking in. The picture has adjusted to the temps of my home excellently. Enjoy owning one of these telys folks!

A friend of mine called me the other night and WalMart was having a major sale until midnight. She said that these 42" Digistar televisions plasma screens are on sale. The suggested selling price is CDN $1,788.84 on the box, as per their selling off the shelf price. Well anyway, here it goes. The special for the t.v. was $1,200.00 on the dot!!!! Amazing. They had like 11 models and that was it. I didn't know anything about the Digistar Brand before, but couldn't stray from a deal like that. My friend got one, a buddy from work picked one up and I. You should have seen the line ups. We are all pleased. Talk about major saving of like $684 bucks in the pocket and a great t.v. Wal Mart was selling 27" televsions for $169.00. hello. I saw the posts whent out and checked wallmart and bought the 42 inch plasma, and it is HDTV and on sale for 1089 great buy, im scared because its so cheap but it seems pretty nice so far

Why someone would not spend 100 bucks extra and purchase a QUALITY Panasonic 600 Series HDTV instead. This isn't quantum physics here, just simple common sense. The Panasonic Plasmas are known to be one of the best Plasmas on the market, have ALL the bells and whistles (pc input 2 HDMI connections etc) and yet someone will buy a "Digistar" EDTV to save a lousy 100 bucks?
I certainly don't mean to trash a product someone owns,and I am by no means an expert in home theatre, but these forums are mean't to ASSIST people in making wise investments. Am I missing something here?

I bought one and am very happy with the product but can't find the code for the remote so I can run the thing with my cable remote. Does anyone know what code to use?

I bought a 42" Digistar LCD and I lost the remote. Not a good thing! I've bought a two "universal" remotes and both didn't work. Any ideas?

I bought my 40" lcd digistar back in April of 2007 from Walmart and up till today, (knock on wood) I have yet to have a problem with it. Anyhow, I was having a problem finding a universal remote until I came across a universal remote by Philips sold at Walmart. It is sold in a package of 2 and states on the back that it will infact work with the digistar television.

I just put up a post - we had the same problem with our Digistar from WalMart purchased at the same time too. Only difference is we don't have a service place for it and we are getting a big time run around from the service agent. I just filed a complaint with the BBB in Vancouver too

quite hinestly I would not recommend buying any digistar product as the customer service is absolutely terrible. I bought a 42" plasma TV that has broken down after only a few months and its been in the shop for 3 weeks and nobody from the company will return my calls as to what they are doing with my TV and when I could expect it back or a replacement TV as apparently the part needed is on Back Order and they have no idea whn it will be in stock.
This company has very poor customer service people who are very rude and don't listen to the customers requests or questions when trying to get info from them.
This is my own personal opinion according to what I have actually had to deal with and is 100% true.
