MP3 players forum: AUTOBABY MP3 player help

Battery is depleted.Plug player into powered USB hub. Hhen battery is depleted PC USB ports do not charge player immediately - takes a while before player even starts to charge. PC USB ports also take long time to fully charge battery. When not fully charged autobaby displays broken arrows between on screen PC icon and autobaby icon. When fully charged player shows solid arrow between these icons. hope this helps

i figured out the problem why my autobaby wouldnt get detected.... i figured this cheap mp3 player which i got for free was pretty messed up so i decided to open it all up... if u remove the front panel there will be a little white box to the left (plastic) remove the cover and you'll find the usb connect to the player, there should be 4 wires that are connected to the circuit board.. the problem with mine was that one of the wires was broken (cheap wiring), it was cuz cuz the plastic box has a sharp peice pressed up against the wire... from what i figured the charging still worked becausel the red and black wires control that where as the upload and download are controlled by the white (the broken one) and the yellow wire... this is wat was wrong with my player i did a temporary patch on the white wire and it works... for how much longer with all the cheap wiring and masking tape (yes masking tape to seperate the fm transmitter wire fromt he rest of the board) holding the player together

I got one around christmas and the battery wouldnt hold its charge,i sent it away and got another one. the wires eventually broke so i got another one and its still working so i hope it lasts.

Guess what - I wrote to the Company and they told me to return the player and they will replace it. Unfortunately there is an 8-10 week backlog - that tells you something right. Anyway thanks for your help.

Ok, I opened mine up, and it turned out that one of the wires that connects from the actual usb key to the internal computer broke. It occurs from the opening and retracting of the usb. My friend is fixing it for me right now. When he finishes, I'll ask him what he did. I need a favour though. One of the wires on the backside of the motherboard came loose, and we're not exactly sure of where it goes. If somebody could PLEASE open the back of their Autobaby and take a picture showing where the distinct GREEN WIRE starts from and specifically goes to, I would greatly appreciate it. Or, if someone could find an internal pic on the internet. Thanks.

The extra Green wire (mine is red) is the FM Antenna, it is not supposed to be connected on one end. As for the USB connector, the four wires are soldered poorly and the glued for reinforcement poorly. If on break it is a simply repair.

The reason behind why Autobaby mp3 file transfer doesn't work is simply because one of the wires connected to the USB is broken. A couple months ago, the same thing happened to my mp3. When i connected it to the USB, it would light up and recharge. But my computer would not recognize it and the file where you can add and delete songs did not pop up. (Removable Drive) But when my Dad opened up the Mp3 and took a look inside it, he found out that one of the wires that connected the USB was broken in half. Once he connected it together, i was able to open the removable drive, aka the file where u can transfer songs. I believe the wire was broken because of the consistent use of pushing the USB plug back and forth too frequently. Hopefully, this will help solve your problem. I'm glad that it helped me use this mp3 again! =)

Any electronics repairman that you'd take your broken VCR to should be able to make a quick job of the AutoBaby.

All that needs to be done to solder one or two wires. I know people who could do this in their sleep.

They say: Please make sure you include a note with your full name, return address and phone number. They need this information in order to send a unit back to you. Please also include a note regarding the problem you are having. They are currently on back order so there will be a delay of 8-10 weeks in sending a new unit.

It's just the way things are set up. If you send your AutoBaby for repair or replacemrnt, you're supposed to get it. If you don't, it shoud be an easy lawsuit.

i had tha same problem but all tha wires ended up gettin snaped off i saudered a whole new usb port plug into it with no mistakes an i still couldnt get it to work proper so i gave up on it an gave it on to tha next man to mess with... info that i know if you got one get rid of it or chuck it out cause they aint worth a dime in my mind
