A Little Help - Downloading Mushc

My grandchildren have got MP3 players for Christmas. I would like to be able to download music for them and get them on their machines. I would also like to take some of the music and burn them to a CD for their "boom boxes".

If I am in wrong form, plase point me to the correct one.

Expect To Pay For The Download

Using XP Pro - want the least invasive software if required.

Would like to be able to convert them to a single format for storage/burning.

Appreciate any help

It depends upon the mp3 player that you bought. It must support digital rights management(DRM) for downloaded music. Not all devices will allow that option. YOu also need to specify if it is an iPOD or a windows-based device. Windows Media Player(10), Musicmatch and RealPlayer all perform more than adequately for acquiring music and burning CDs. Usually most non-iPODs will support wav, wma, mp3 music formats. Only iPODs support its own format. Hope this assists you.

Downloading Music

Maybe I am lost in this. They have Apple Players. But also on the download side, I would like to download music to be able to burn to a CD an play on my system and in my car. As I said, understand that I will pay for the music. I am just looking for a site that is fairly easy and uses the least invasive software to download the music. Do not want to get involved with software that crawls all over my system. Would appreciate any help

Itunes

You should consider Itunes music store (since the kids possess Ipods). They have a huge collection and songs downloaded from the store can be burnt on a CD using any CD burning software like Nero and using the option of creating an AUDIO CD. Your CD will work on any commercial player.

iTunes "crawls" into your computer. It reformated all my song file names to just the song name. That really pissed me off!
