Also, if anyone can recommend a similar digital video player that they know works well and goes for less than $100, please let me know!

Lots of sites sell them, but none of them have them available in store. I'd really like to mess around with a display model.

What model you buy before for $45? I just want something that has a 2.5-4 inch screen and plays videos well.

I just bought this yesterday for work. Took it out of the package, did not have to read the manual, and within an hour, had connected it to my pc, downloaded files and was playing my music, videos and viewing photos. The touchscreen is easy to use, and with a good set of headphones, the sound has excellent quality. The external speaker is ok, but does not put out enough volume if you were in a noisy area. The feel of the player is solid, and has a nice weight to it. Loading files is as simple as connecting the USB cable and dragging and dropping files in Explorer...no special software needed. We think it's going to be excellent for our use, and everyone here likes it so far.

Does the video play at the normal frames per second? Basically, does the video seem to skip a bit as it plays? My current player only does about 12-15 frames per second and its pretty annoying.

Does it still work well? Any complaints or major likes? My MP3 player broke and I need to replace it. It played music, videos, e-books, expanded microSD slot, touch screen, voice recorder, and well I came across the Trio T4300HD at BestBuy.com and the price seems nice for all that it does, but I would like to get an opinion from someone whom has owned it a little longer than a week (most reviews are from just purchased consumers). This player is a dream compared to my ZUNE 4GB. The ZUNE is difficult to manupulate and the sound output, even with exteneral speakers, is too low: the Zune is not to play in the car with a portable speaker. This Trio is a dream, easier to install podcasts and music than the awkward Zune software. Have you had music disappear from your ZUNE? I have. The bonus is that this Trio is a great portable video player and for photo viewing. It even has a small ebook reader. I have a Kindle but the Treo, though small, is in color.
The only problem I have found is that although it works great on my Windows 7 computer, it crashed when I connected to my XP computer.
This MP3 player is a dream for the price. I just wish it had notepad, memopad, calculator and datebook; then it would make a super PDA.

i was looking on youtube for a video review of thee mach speed trio t4300hd mp3 player and as the person was telling all about the device i noticed that if you slide your finger to the left of the screen(record, photo, ebook etc.) you can access the calculator, settings and more. i was looking online for one of these devices after finding the video and you can find this product on the walmart website, circuit city.im going to get one after my dad comes home from irag this august. im soooo excited to get it!!!! i hope this helps.

i found it pretty cheap at fye about 60 bucks and its awesome im currently trying to update the software and see if i can get new apps on it like games and such.

This works fine for most video formats and most audio. It has 8GB built in and I have had not problems with another Micro sd card of 8GB.
