Need M4a support in Windows Media Player

I apologize in advance for asking a question that must have been asked before.
I absolutely require the ability for Windows Media Player (ver. 11, in Windows XP SP 2 or 3) to recognize AAC audio files (with the .m4a extension). It would be nice if it could recognize tag info as well as play the music. Is there any trustworthy codec or plugin I could use for this?
In case you wanted to know why: my new Samsung YP-P3 player is SO new that Samsung's EmoDio software can't synch with it, but WMP 11 can. I already have 400+ CDs ripped in AAC (iTunes Plus) format!
