Playback modes

I need to ask a question here that may sound very stupid but please bear
along with me. I am very new to players and need a lot of help!

In reading and searching on a Cowon D2, I found this in the spec part of the review: Playback modes Next song, Previous song, Fast forward, Rewind, Section repeat, Play, Pause, Recording/Pause.

I have a large collection of oldies that I want to play in a Random manner
and Im wondering If the playback mode does not say RANDOM, then it does
not have this feature?

I thought all mp3 players had random mode? Again, Im new, so any comments or help is most welcome.

Specs generally--and unfortunately--aren't the best place to get such information. If you read a CNET review on an MP3 player, they almost always have this particular data somewhere in the text. In the case of the D2, yes, it does have a shuffle mode.
