MP3 players forum: Advice on GOOD MP3 PORTABLE Recorder?

I most certainly can.

The Neuros is an excelent recorder, player, and transmitter. It has the ability to record FM, through line in, and it's own internal mic. From what I hear of people who use an external mic with it, you need a preamp, but that shouldn;t be news. It plays many file types, including MP3 and Ogg for instance. With excellent reproduction of sound quality I might add. And what I mean by 'transmitter' is that it has a built in fm transmitter so you can 'broadcast' your own fm signal(your choice of station) to a near by radio. I'm not sure what the limit is, but i don't have any troubles. And with recording from the radio, you can record a 30 sec clip of a song on the radio, and then, when you sync back up with your computer, it will tell you what the song was. And in terms of size, it still fits in the palm of your hand, and feels like it is dense enough to actually be doing something :b

I, too, am interested in a decent quality portable MP3 recorder that will accept an external microphone for field interviews. Edirol makes the beautiful R1 which records to Compact Flash ... but it's too expensive. Any luck with your inquiries?
