I'd go with white.

Besides, if you are worried about looks (nevermind features) iPods are the yellow Cabriolet / hot pink mopeds of mp3 players. Fine if you are a teenage girl living in Orange County......

If I got an iPod, I'd go with the Black, but I'd make sure to get a good case for it as well - like you said, it scratches too easily. (That's if I had to get an iPod, anyway. ;))

If you want to get an MP3 player primarily for video, I suggest you take a look at the Creative Zen Vision:M. It has a much longer battery life for videos than the iPod Video (something like 8 hours vs 2 hours), and a good battery life for MP3 files too. Unfortunately, its battery life for Microsoft WMA files is very low. But you shouldn't have to worry about this unless you buy music online.

If you want to watch videos but you don't need such a big player (30GB+), you might want to check out the new SanDisk "Sansa" players. The Sansa is basically like an iPod Nano that can play videos.

They're a bit more scratch resistant with a second coat of paint.

Try out the product from iSkin. It ran about $35 (not discounted) at my local store, easily fit my iPod and works great. I use it travelling, hiking, etc.
P.S. I agree with one of the earlier posts: if you can't say something constructive, then you're simply wasting everyone's time who opens your message. Kind of immature and gutless.

I'd personally go with white. Everyone really bought into the black thing, and now just like the ipod itself everyone has a black nano or video. I'd go with white, stand out at much as possible with a ipod.
