Problems with my Sandisk Sansa M260

Hey guys, I have 2 problems with my Sandisk Sansa M260 Player. Thanks for any help in advance.

1. Whenever my player is paused and I switch to a new song via the main menu my unit goes haywire. It takes me to the song playing screen but its stuck on pause, and then when you press the menu button all of the artists are displayed as the one artist I chose. For example, if I chose to play Linkin Park I would see 10 Linkin Park entries, all the same. The problem fixes itself if you shut it off, but the problem is easily replicated. However, if you change a song while a song is playing, nothing bad happens. Have you heard of this? How can I fix my unit?

2. Secondly, nobody in my family, including myself, has any clue as to how to wear the hand strap. Trust me, I have experimented with it fully. If I could get a detailed, full description on how to wear it from someone who has an Sansa M200 model it would be appeciated.

I have the Sansa 130 series, but I believe they use the same firmware.
1st, I'd remove all the music from the Sansa, and power cycle it.
Then, copy all the files back to it, and try again.
If it still has the problem, make sure you have the latest firmware (check Sandisk website for your model).

Last resort is to reformat the drive (this will erase all your files), and start over.Make sure you format as FAT32 if the drive is 1Gig or more!
If problem persists, you have a defective unit!

I know nothing about the 200 series straps.

Different Problems

I have not encountered your problem (yet) with my new M260. I will test to see if I get the same results.

I have a 2 problems of my own though:

1) After I load tracks using Rhapsody To Go they are all in there, but they all have 'unknown' Album and Artist names. It is not an issue with the ID3 tags, because I can perform the same exact load (same system, everything identical) on my wife's M230 and it works fine.

2) after each track loads there is about a 1 minute pause before it goes on to the next track. Again this does not happen with the M230, so I don't think it's my computer, etc.

Does anyone knnow anything about these issues. The only firmware upgrade seems to indicate that it only has to do with playing Audible files... Any thoughts?

I just bought the M250 (2gb one). I plan on getting Rhapsody right after the holidays. Wondering if others are having the same issue. I hope not.

The exact thing happeened to me as well, the player went nuts. The m240 was fine, no problems, but the m260 on the other hand....

I since have hooked up my M250 and put it threw the paces and have had zero issues to date. not sure what the difference would be, but mine 2gb one is working like a charm
