Need a good MP3 Player with Good Recording Functions.

I've had my Creative MuVo Slim for a while now,but i'm not really satisfied with the low quality voice recording. I recently went to an outdoor concert and gave the recording option a shot (4-bit mono). The vocals were good, but whenever a hint of bass came in, I would hear nothing but static. So i've decided to look for something that is a good mp3 player with the average features (Fm Tuner/EQ/BackLit LCD) but mostly the recording features.
In my search, I stumbled upon the MuVo Micro (aka Zen Nano) and noticed that it has line in recording up to 160kbps. Would this be suitable for recording say,a rock concert or other bass heavy music?
Also,I don't want to spend more than $250. But if it's nessesary, i't would have to be a really good player. Any Suggestions?
