Does Canon VIXIA HF R32 has a Wide Angle lens?

I want to buy a budgeted Camcorder with MIC interface. Both Sony HDR-CX260V and Canon VIXIA HF R32 has that. But Sony also spec CX260V has a 29.8mm Wide Angle Lens, whild Canon did not mention R32 has Wide Angle Lens.

R32 spec the lens as f= 2.8-89.6 mm, F/1.8-4.5. Is it considered to be a wide angle lens?

Hi, Does that mean the wide angle for Sony CX-260V (29.8mm) can capture more scenes comparing to Canon HF R32 (33.9mm)? Does Canon's lens almost like regular lens (35mm).

I want to buy one with wider angle, but am quite lost when reading f or F numbers. I really appreciate your help. Thank you so much!!

Let's hear what your current wide angle is now. Then we can use something like http://www.isotton.com/misc/lens-angle-calculator/ to see if the angle is same or different.
