Hello,
I am looking for a camera (probably camcorder) with the following specifications:
-ability to automatically create time lapse video at an interval of 1 image every 24 hrs.
-Has the ability to run off A/C (and comes with A/C adapter)
-Has a view-finder
-Has mount for standard tripod
It would be nice if it was HD, which most video cameras are now I guess, but I don't mind buying an old one on eBay or something if anyone knows of a model so SD is also acceptable. My price cap is $200 because I only need the camera for this one project but around $100 would be better (again, if anyone knows of older models that I can get on eBay that would be great, I don't need the image quality to be super amazing or anything and I don't need any other features on the camera.) Oh, and it has to be in some sort of digital format that I can easily transfer to my computer with USB or SD card or something so no tapes or anything like that.
I am an artist and want to create a short time-lapse video of organic processes occurring in my studio but I don't want to have to be there every day to press the button so I would like a camera that can either stay on all the time (and run on A/C) or turn itself on and off (or go into sleep mode or whatever) to take the pictures.
The problem with a lot of cameras that are billed as time lapse cameras is that many of them do not have viewfinders and I need to be able to see what I'm doing. Also there's a lot of camcorders with a "time lapse feature" but many do not go as long as 24 hours. I need the camera to be set up for several months probably. So I'm having a hard time searching through the specs of every single camcorder I see to find out if it runs on A/C (and comes with the adapter), has a time lapse mode AND can do 1 image every 24 hrs.
If anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
