Battery Problems??

Hi I have a JVC HDD camcorder and the other day it seemed to fry my battery. It would not turn on until I went to buy another battery...anyone ever have any problems like this? I can't afford to purchase 50$ batteries!!!

Batteries are good for about 2 years. Your post didn't reveal how old the old battery was.

the first battery was a couple of years old...the next battery was only minutes old and it fried it...I've been scared to buy another one b/c of the loss if it does it again

I've seen new (cheap, not maker made) batteries pop when new. But that's just a repeat of the stories you know about.

The real horror story here is that any service call or counter usually costs more than a battery or the camcorder. My old JVC does not fry batteries and neither do other camcorders at the office but we use the maker's battery and on some setups we have a charger so we can use the camcorder while another battery is in the charger.

Remember I only have the story as presented so I have to guess what fry means.
