Digipower battery for Sony Handycam problem

I have a Handycam model HDR-PJ10 recently purchased, which comes with a 2 hour battery
#NP-FV50. Needing more battery time, I bought a Digipower battery (8 hr) # BP-NVP100 from Best Buy which is a replacement & is supposed to fit my camera. The packaging & # indicate fully compatable. Also the camera store confirms this. My problem is the battery works in my camera for exactly 4 minutes then a note comes on the screen about compatability & my camera then shuts down. No one can tell me why & all say it should work fine.
I would appreciate any input /experience from anyone out there.

Having read many similar posts from lots of people reporting the same issue you shared, I purchase/use only Sony branded optional high capacity batteries in my Sony (HDR-HC1, HDR-FX1) and Canon branded optional high capacity batteries Canon (HF S100) and have never had a problem.

I would return the battery to Best Buy for a full refund. "Should work" but does not. They owe you your $ back.
