Hi, I have several of these little tapes recorded years ago with a camcorder. Per a post I placed yesterday, the camcorder can no longer play them back so that I can transfer to DVDs. I'm considering shipping these off to a profession transfer service but wondered if the problem might be with the tapes themselves. What's happening when I put them in the camcorder? The images scroll through rapidly as if each frame isn't being properly read by the mechanism (is that called "tracking" perhaps?). If I hit pause, I can see a frame almost perfectly, though there's usually a white line or two in the view. Also, there's no sound. Thanks for your guidance-- this occurs on each of the tapes, and also there's no sound -- I don't want to pay some outfit to try to transfer these if it's impossible due to poor tape quality.
