Camcorder/ Video Camera for live Steaming to PC

I work with a marketing,branding and communications company and we do live video streaming to our webshow, webinars, boardroom & more. I do not like what i am getting from the webcam and the zoom, low light is a issue. What camcorder can i purchase to do this? i am on my 2nd camera from Best Buy and am about to return it because i cannot get it to be recognized must less stream. I have a newer hp dv6 computer and from what i can find online I have to have a pro camera to do this or use a DV type camera?

conditions means large lenses and large imaging chips. The camcorders at consumer retail sites have neither. The Sony HDR-FX1000 is about the low-end of the camcorders with both. Others include the Canon XHA1, Panasonic AG-DVX100 (standard definition) and AG-HVX200 (high definition) cams... and of course the Sony pro-line up with the HVR-Z5 and Z7. All of these have a lens filter diameter of 70mm or higher and use a 3CMOS or 3CCD (preferred) imaging chip system that is 1/3" or larger.

"Streaming" *usually* means a way to get high quality video from the camcorder to the internet. Typically this includes wireless. USB does not "stream". It is a bursty protocol. Forewire streams... so a camera or camcorder with firewire (also known as DV, IEEE1394 and i.Link) is needed. Generally, this will be a miniDV tape based camcorder. The Panasonic AG-HVX200 and the Sony HVR-Z7 use flash memory (P2 cards or SxS compact flash, respectively). The others use miniDV tape.

Firewire cables do have a length limitation so if you need wireless, then transceiver systems from companies like Titan work well.

Your research found in your last sentence/question is accurate. What you found is a pro camera (that uses DV/IEEE1394/i.Link/firewire) is most likely your best bet - not a consumer-grade cam.

If you can ADD light, the lens and imaging chip requirement on "large" is reduced. Then the Sony HVR-A1, HVR-HD1000 shoulder-mount, HDR-FX7, Canon HV40 and a few others might be possible.

I do not know what you mean about "use a DV type camera".
