Playsport ZX3

I bought a new playsport ZX3 today and when I try to insert the battery with the notched corner aligned as per instructions or any other way ----- the battery is to big to go into the slot - I've turned and tilted it every way known to man - Does anybody own one or know of any existing issues or a trick to getting it to insert - the battery is just the standard Kodak KLIC 7004

I'm not sure I need to own a product where the battery won't insert - lol
