Looking for some "pre-purchase" advice

The purpose of this post is to gather some solid information, that I may make an informed purchase of a high def video camera. Most of the video will be action shots of canine athletes in various forms of competition. Most of this video will be shot from a moving atv vehicle. Because of the motion I expect I will need to use a product along the line of "glidecam". The video will be edited on a Macbook Pro and eventually be uploaded to the web.

I am new to this arena and I am looking for many resources to improve myself. Case in point, I recently signed up for some instruction from izzyvideo.com to help educate myself more about video.

I am hoping to keep the total purchase somewhere in the neighborhood of $1500 or under hopefully. Any help will be appreciated very much. As for where I am now, with what little I know, I "think" the Canon VIXIA HF S21 Dual Flash Memory Camcorder looks like...maybe...please help....thanks

Initially it will primarily be for the web, but eventually I will want to put a collection together for blu-ray.
