canon vixia hf100 help

ive had my canon for awhile and i want to learn how to edit my videos. the software (imagemixer 3 SE) that came with my camcorder does not work anymore. whenever i upload videos onto it and try to edit them, the program ends up crashing. is it because im using 30 fps? i heard somewhere that that might be the problem.
is sony vegas pro 9.0 any good with m2ts files?

because this has been covered several times in the forum...

1) There is no useful software that comes in the box with the camcorder.

2) When editing AVCHD/MTS files, Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere typically float to the top for Windows/Vista computers.
