Camcorders forum: Making a DVD from a Flip Ultra HD

Here is what I think may cause problems:

The Flip Ultra HD camcorder appears to only be able to copy files to a computer before you make your DVDs.

The Flip Ultra HD has a built in USB connector that plugs directly into a computer.

Since I will not be using my own computer while traveling, I will need to connect the camcorder to different computer.

I just tested this process on a friend's computer.

When I connect the camcorder, I am required to load camcorder software onto the computer before I can start the copying process.

I am guessing that the computer owner will not want me to load new programs onto his/her computer.

Perhaps I am worrying about nothing, but I would like to know if anyone else has dealt with this issue.

I'm facing the same situation with an upcoming trip. Has anyone found a way to copy from the Flip HD to an external hard drive? It would be so much easier to carry just the camera and a small drive. (I won't be bringing a laptop.)

My idea had been to offload the video at internet cafes along the way, but I agree that they won't allow for software to be installed.
