I received a Canon Powershot S110 for Xmas, and I really like it. There's no doubt it's the nicest camera I've owned. One of the things I'm most excited about is the GPS functionality (I was disappointed that it didn't have the built in GPS that its predecessor had) but I have a few questions about it.

It uses the free Canon Camera Window app (I use an iPhone) to track GPS information. From what I understand, I turn GPS tracking on on the app, and then I can take pictures while it's on. Then when I'm done, I can transfer the pictures to my phone and it adds the locations to the pictures based on the time they were taken. I've tried this out and it works.

A question I have is this: What if I'm on a trip or something and I leave the app running, but I don't want to transfer all the pictures to my phone and I'd rather put them on my computer with the SD card? When I sync the GPS information, does it add that info to the picture files on the camera so that when I dump them onto my computer with the SD card, the info would be on them?

The only other question I have is this: If I'm on a trip in Europe or something, I obviously can't leave the app running because for it to track my location it would use crazy overseas data and cost me a fortune on my phone bill. Am I missing something, or is it as simple as that and I can;t use this feature while roaming?
