I am a rank amatuer in photography and just need a camera that excels at pretty much single purpose, taking pictures of fish. Generally that means I am close-up since we are in a 16 ft drift boat or on the bank. For the ideal shot imagine a close up where the subject is extending their arms forward about 24" from their body, holding an object (i.e. a 36 inch fish). The perfect picture has both the fish and the person holding it in sharp focus.
If you wouldn't mind telling me which of the standard settings is best for the above, I would greatly appreciate it.
I would like:
Water resistant
GPS
Wide angle (?)
Video (optional, but a big plus)
I have a Sony DSLR with a sigma 18-125 that I love, but it rains a lot and I don't like to yard it out when it is raining. Therefore, much of the time this will be the camera that takes someone's picture for their memory book...
