What's wrong with this compact camera?

I am hoping someone can identify the issue this camera is having. I'm assuming it's something with the lens, but am hoping someone can pinpoint the exact problem.
The lens captures a pink hued blur, with low light sensitivity.

I apologize.. It is a kodak v1253. It was not damaged as far as I know, it had been sitting on a shelf for several months before displaying this problem. The Youtube video is not working out, so instead I have a few shots of the issue on flickr. See below:

I find it hard to believe this camera came out in 2001.

It looks like another failed sensor. Rarely repairable.

Kodak V1253

Can't be 2001.
Where I checked, it shows it was introduced April 27, 2007.

Failed CCD sensor for sure.
Most likely moisture has gotten into the sensor.
Possibly from a high humidity area or camera has been exposed to water.

Since Kodak is in the midst of Bankrupsy and have ceased making cameras, it is unlikely you can get it repaired.

If I were to buy a functioning but beat up duplicate camera, do you think a parts swap could be undertaken to correct the issue?

Camera Repair

I don't recomment it.
Most people can't get the case off a camera without damaging the camera.
If you are proficient with tools and have a background of working on electronics you could probably change the part out. But the odds are not on your side to get it working properly again.

Well, many thanks for your input. Whether I brick the camera or not, I'd only be out about 30 dollars. Maybe I'll give it a try, as I've had luck taking apart many ipods and iphones...
