Canon Lens Question

Have Canon EFs 55-250mm lens on my CanonT4i.

When the image stabilizer is ON and I have button pushed 1/2 way I hear this "dirty ballbearing" noise.
I just got a replacement and hear it in this "New Lens" as well.
Is this just the noise I can expect Image Stabilizers making?

Appreciate any help here!

But I've found IS to make noise in most cameras. And my bet is the bigger the lens, the more noise. I bet this could rattle those new to IS and such. Here I've grown accustomed to it over the few dozen cameras we have at the office.

Perhaps its the gyros "spooling up"

It isn't the loudest noise in the world......it is rather faint.
However, I don't want this to be the begining of something much more costly down the road.

I realize this isn't a Pro lens, but I can't afford nor do I want to cary around a $1,000 lens <<For now! wink
<Perhaps Santa will take notice.

Well I keep a lookout for you 55-250 Canon Lens users!

Funny how "After you ask a question" you seem to find an answer.
