Upgrading my Nikkon d60 and lens

Want to upgrade my Nikkon D60 camera.
Any idea on what would be a good upgrade.

I use the Nikkon D60 for taking indoor basketball photos. I take lots of action shots every week.

Currently using a Tamron 70-300mm telemacro lens.
The auto focus on this lens is very slow but i am getting some reasonable close up shots.

Other wise i use the camera when on holidays overseas.

Question 1 : What camera do i upgrade too
Questions 2: What is the best sports lens, e.g the Nikkon 70-200 F2.8?

D7000, 7D

The D7000 w/ 70-200 f/2.8 would set you back about $3600.

You could switch to Canon and get the 7D, which shoots even faster than the Nikon. The body is more, but you can get a non IS 70-200 for less, so the total would be about the same as the Nikon body and lens.
