Hi what should I but the nikon p510 for
$450.00 or the T2i for $799.00 with 18 - 55 is and 55 - 250 is I don't have a camera now.

Comparison of apples and oranges.

The two cameras are aimed at two different customers.

In the hands of someone who has been taking pictures for a few years and has a knowledge of photography, either camera can produce excellent pictures.

An expensive camera is no guarantee that you will take excellent pictures.
The knowledge of the person holding the camera is more important than the camera.

If this is your first camera, it is more practical to buy a less expensive camera and spend a year just learning about photography.

I am not new to cameras but never owned a dslr. I have taken some amazing pictures with a kodak p712 but it is worn out now ,,so what to buy next and I know dslr lens are pretty costly? but I can get a new t2i with a 18 55 and a 55 250 is for $799.99

A DSLR has the potential to capture images in more challenging situations because not only does the body offer higher performance, but specific lenses can be selected for the particular application, and external flash too. It gives you more control, not just during capture, but also afterwards, because a DSLR outputs RAW files. The downside to a DSLR is size, weight, cost, and complexity.
