Help deciding what camera (please)

Hi all.
I am a college student studying graphic design/photography, so I'm looking to upgrade to a nicer camera. I want something that takes very detailed macro shots, but that also takes good action shots, and that doesn't have a long stall between shots. (Sorry I'm not familiar with all the terminology yet.) Budget: around $600. If someone could point me in the right direction, including any lenses I may need, I would greatly appreciate it!

Right now, you can get a factory refurbished Canon T2i DSLR for $448 using codes 20SLR412 and NEW412. I do not know how long the 20% off discount and free shipping offers will last.

The camera includes the standard 18-55mm lens to get you started. For macro and sports, you would need different lenses. The T2i received stellar reviews when it was introduced in 2010 at a retail of $900.
