Video uploads only audio and no video

I have a Kodak Easy Share C122. Takes videos fine and playback on camera is perfect. But when I upload onto my computer, only the audio plays. How can I get the video to play? I'm using the Kodak software appropriate for the Easy Share. Thanks for any help!

My old Kodak did that.

While it turned out to be a missing CODEC (can be the user installed another CODEC?) I find

VLC PLAYER

To be my choice when trying to playback stuff like this. Try it.

Usually we hear from Kodak owners that they can't upload the video to the computer when using the Kodak software.

So, I am wondering if you are actually uploading the right file.
The specifications show that the C122 uses Quicktime for video.
They probably use an extender of MOV for the file (i.e. xxxxxxx.MOV).

I suggest you use a computer that has a card reader and read the SD memory card with the card reader.
Then copy the video file to the computer using the card reader.

Can't believe it! Using just the memory card and Quick Time, that actually worked! But one (well, actually two) last question(?): Can I upload my videos via USB and use Quick Time instead? Can I delete the Kodak software?

I don't use any of the software that came with my digital cameras.

Most of the software wants to organize the picture files in a way that I can't find them on the computer.

I have a much simpler organization method:
All pictures taken on a certain date or event are placed in a folder with a date code for the name of the folder.
In this format: yyyymmdd (i.e. 20120320).

That makes it very simple for creating a back-up CD for all my photo files.

For viewing the photos I suggest a program called Irfanview.
It is fast, efficient and Free.
It also can do useful photo editing and manipulation.
