Ricoh R8 Digital Camera

I have a Ricoh R8 camera, The lens is badly scratched and I have been in touch with the company who will charge me an extortionate price for replacing the lens. Does anybody have any suggestions for a good replacement camara for a reasonable price. I need a camera that takes excellent macro shots. Thanks.

Lens Scratch

First - Many times a scratch will not even be noticeable when viewing the photos.
Can you see the results of the scratch in the pictures you take?

Hi Snapshot,
Yes, the scratch is right in the middle of the lens and shows up as a blur. I really like this camera as it is easy to take about and I use it mainly for pictures of moths, flowers and other insects.

But I looked around on Ebay for R8 parts. It appears there is a market for such.

I'd email them and ask how much to change that lens.
