Error Code 38

I bought a Powershot A85.
I have tried by all means to connect it to my PC but no luck.
I get en error message saying there is another instance of the driver in the memnory (CODE 38) and no matter what I tried nothing seems to work.
I downloaded WIA 6.2.5 but it cannot be upsated and it did not help at all.
Any ideas?

The link shown in my response to the original question is not correctly displayed.

This forum has problems with long links and sometimes adds a space in the middle of it. Take a good look at the link and on the third line you will see a space between the j and the k.

Copy the entire link and paste it to your internet explorer window and remove the space from between the j and k, then click GO.
It will take you to the correct location.

Had the same problem.
Found the answer.
You've got a USB scanner connected - you need to switch it off before the system will recognise the camera. Something to do with the usbscan driver - can't have 2 scanning devices on at the same time - it recognises the first device connected.
