I've had this camera since it was new on the market. Got some great shots; above and below water. Then it happened. Was kayaking with porpoises when I turned it on, it hummed and shut off. (Great timing). Never got it to work again. I would help you out with cable/battery, but the one I replaced it with takes the same cable/battery. I purchased an OEM cable and battery on Amazon for a fraction of what Olympus wanted. Since this thread is so old, you might even have another camera by now. If it isn't Olympus, it is a perfect knockoff. The battery seems to last forever! So if anyone knows how to fix this, that would be great!
You must have the Olympus cable to charge the camera. I always took my card out and put in my PC to download pictures. You must also have it to upgrade firmware...which I suggest you NEVER do. After I did, that is when I had my problem. I know how to download properly too. Also if I might add....I never used digital zoom since the pixels were terrible. I found with this camera you can use digital zoom to it's max (ONLY with a tripod and using the 2 sec timer) you can get fantastic photos. The light must be good, but I was impressed.
