Digital cameras forum: My Camera won't turn on...

The C-3020 was introduced in 2001.
It uses 4-AA batteries.

Your post says it will not turn-on.
And it will work for less than an hour.

Those statements seem to contradict each other.

The most likely cause is one defective battery.
It just takes one battery to make the set of four batteries look bad.
Make sure that you are using 4 just purchased batteries.

You might also investigate the length of the batteries.
There has been a few cases, where the springs in the bottom of the battery holder have taken a "set" and do not hold the batteries up high enough.
That results in a poor battery contact with the lid on the battery compartment.

Turn-on the camera while watching the LCD screen and see if an error message is displayed.


Turn the camera-on again and gently pull on the lens to help it extend.
If the lens fails to extend all the way, the camera will turn off.

If you need the photo files from the memory card, I recommend that you purchase a card reader for your computer.
Or you can take the memory card to your local photo printer location and have them save the photos to a CD for you.
