canon powershot 80 problems

Pictures coming out with vignetting in corners,discoloration on top edge, and whites with a pinkish tone. Can it be fixed? If so where's a good place, thanx

It sounds like a defective CCD sensor.
That is a known problem.
The good news is: Canon will fix the camera for free.

Call Canon service and say that your camera has a defective CCD sensor and tell them the model number (A80).

Thanx a lot for the info, that may well be it. I really love the a 80 and dont want to replace it. I dont see anything on the market that compares without spending a lot of money.

CCD sensor

I had sent an e-mail off to Canon shortly after my original post here, describing the same symptoms, and with in an hour, at 9:18 on a saturday night! got an e-mail from a cannon rep telling me about the sensor problem and to send it in with free shipping for a free fix. Unbelievable! Canon has a loyal product user in me and my family for the rest of our lives. Never hAVE i SEEN THIS KIND OF SERVICE. Thanx again to cnet, I use your reviews and chose the A-80 from them.
