First camera...how to transfer pix to PC?

good morning,

I have a Kodak Easyshare. OS: XP Home

will camera automagically transfer pix using USB cable? just plug-in, turn-on, sit-back and respond to questions from PC?

I downloaded Kodak software but would prefer not to use it. there is not a manual included with camera. I have read expanded manual at Kodak. it seems vague to a new user.

I would prefer to create a new folder and use my outlook express for email.

I have FastStone ImageViewer(Free) installed also.

if someone as a link to a similar question on this forum...please include.

as R. Proffitt told me the first time I asked a question a few years ago. "you learn more by doing your own search and reasoning" or something close to that. IOW "don't be lazy!"
