Camera for Rock Climbing/Hiking

I'm looking for a subcompact camera that is suitable to take on a rock climbing vacation. Camera needs to be easy to use one-handed; has image stablization; is dust proof; and can withstand being knocked about a little in a backpack. It also needs to take decent quality photos. (I'm not going to take another camera and get a case for it since that will defeat the add to much bulk and will defeat the one-handedness that I want.)
My choice seems to be limited since I'm looking for something rugged. I've narrowed my search down to the Pentax Optio W60 and the Olympus Stylus 1030. I read several reviews that says the Olympus has poor image quality so I'm leaning to the Optio W60. Can't seem to find a good review of the Optio W60 though.
Does anyone have any recommendations/insights for a camera to use for backpacking, rock climbing, and the like. Any geologists or palentologists out there?
