Vivitar Vivicam 5386-Zoom stuck

This camera is new and the warranty just ran out.No features work because of the zoom being stuck.I pushed the zoom back in but it didn't help.The camera will come on but thats it.I think the problem started when the batteries was changed without turning the power off.Any suggestions.Thanks.

I believe that camera came with 2 alkaline AA batteries.

So if you are charging the batteries, I assume you are using NiMH AA batteries.

It is possible that you have a bad battery.

For a test.....buy two new alkaline AA batteries and try them.
