difference b/w canon sd id 700, 800, and 900

My friend has the 700 and I love the pictures.

But then suddenly out came the 800 and 900 and I'm torn - as I don't have the money to buy them all and test compare myself, does anyone out there know more about the small/big differences amongst these 3?

I've been comparing the specs, and most of them look the same, except for perhaps body design (buttons placed differently), and perhaps 800 having the wide angle and 900 without.

Is the newest camera always the best?
The 800 and 900 were released at the same time, right? That makes me think that they must not be upgrades of each one another...

Thanks.

(I am most concerned with quality, so if I can pay less and get same quality I don't mind settling for an older model,)

Canon is just trying to keep you on your toes.

There are differences between all three.
Sometimes you have to look close to find them.

Example...
the SD800 has a wide angle lens (28mm focal length)
the SD900 does not have image stabilization.
the SD900 has 10 megapixels.

Examine every line in the chart to find all the differences.

As far as image quality.....all the same....very good.
