Help Taking a Concert Picture, Please

I have one month and I am going to see INXS. I would love to be able to take at least one decent picture of them while I am there. Any suggestions?
I have the Olympus C-7000. And yes I often get blurred pictures but I do hold my breathe and I also use the timer. We pay so much money for these cameras, you would think that holding your breathe would not be an option. haa. Who's going to bring a tripod to a concert? Hmmmm

I don't believe that most concerts will allow any type of recording device including cameras. It sure would be nice if they did. In most cases, you have to buy the photos that are official. They have their movie and still cameramen and artist with them and I wouldn't have like it if someone took business from me when I used to do it.

Like most low cost cameras, the Olympus will not perform

well in low light when movement is occuring. That's probably why your pictures look blurred.

Concert Photos

Some people have reported that professional photographers are not allowed at most concerts.
The people who enforce that rule usually know very little about cameras. They generally decide that if you have a black camera, you are a professional.
You are lucky there.....your camera is silver.


The Olympus C-7000 is a great camera, but its maximum ISO setting is ISO-400. ISO-3200 would be great.

Two more things you can do to help the situation:

1. Do not use optical zoom. When you zoom out, your normal f2.8 lens changes to f4.8
Than means you just lost 1 1/2 f-stops of light.

2. Do not use the LCD to frame your shots. Use the viewfinder. Your head is steadier than two outstretched arms.
