Digital cameras forum: Date Time Stamp

Not many digital cameras have that feature.

If your camera can do that, it will be listed in the User's manual.

However....all digital photos have the date and time embedded in the photo file. It is called EXIF.

Right click on the photo file name.
Then click on the "Summary Tab"
If you don't see the EXIF information, click the
"Advanced" button".

If you do it yourself.....Yes!

Use a software program like PhotoShop Elements to write the date on the photo and save it under a new name. Then print the photo.

If you want a service to do it......No!

This was explored about 9 months ago by a man who was determined to find some service that would print his photos and use the date embedded in the EXIF.

He could not find a service that would do that.

People who have a camera that will timestamp the photos soon learn that it is a bad idea. When they get a great shot and want to get a large print, that timestamp is still there and it cannot be printed without the timestamp.

Real estate people like timestamps on their photos for business reasons. For personal photos it is not a good idea.
