Webcam compatability issue - Dell monitor/MacMini

Great idea: Bypass the need to get an iMac but still enjoy the convenience of built in webcam functionality by buying the new MacMini 2.26GHz and purchasing a Dell SX2210 screen with a built in webcam in its stead. Sounds simple but neither iChat nor Skype seem to recognize the camera's built in existence. Driver issue? There's got to be others out there with a similar issue!

Dell SX2210 Webcam and Mac Mini

Has anyone discovered a driver that will allow the Mac Mini to operate the Dell SX 2210 Monitor Webcam? I noticed one person claim that they plugged the cables in and it worked. If there is a way to do this, I'd love to know about it. Thanks.

Never occurred to me there would be no Dell driver on Mac for the webcam. Very frustrating

Dell SX2210 display's webcam drivers for Mac Snow

Any news on the availability of a compatible driver for Mac Snow for the Dell SX2210 display? Just bot the display which is due to arrive in a few days, and I was just wondering if anybody has been succesful in finding a driver or an alternative for the displays webcam.

Works great with my Mac Mini

This monitor works very well with my Mac Mini, including the webcam and mic.

I have a mac Mini (mid 2007) and got this screen because it matches really well with the Apple looks. I've connected it with the DVI cable and the USB cable (both included in the box). I'm running Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.3).

While starting up the Mini immediately switched to the right resolution and webcam works great with Skype and Photobooth (did not try iChat). No software installs were necessary.

Dell SX2210 display's webcam drivers for Mac Snow

I have had the monitor now for almost 2 weeks and the webcam and the mic's function perfectly as good as the iSight of my MacBook. Highly recommended as an alternative to the Mac displays. The picture quality is outsatnding since its default resolution is 2048 x 1152. Another plus is the running temperature which keeps the monitor cool even at the top of the screen.

Dell monitor cam initially fine with Mac Mini, but dark now

I'm running the latest Mac OSX 10.6.6 on a Mac Mini. Initially my Skype would default to the Dell webcam and it worked well (not as bright and clear as my external Logitech webcam, though). Then one fine day, the monitor webcam started showing a black picture. It still defaults to the monitor webcam for all webcam needs (photo booth, skype, other chat programs), but it's black.
