Firewire LaCie Drives not Mounting

I'd like to know whether or not anyone has a REAL sucess story -not a hypothesis- about how to get a External La cie Drive (Firewire) to come back up after it was accidentally removed from the 10.3 Mac without ejecting. I have 2 of them and I can't seem to find a real answer. Certainly the drive and data isn't completely dead. HELP.

Here's what I did and what I was going to do.
1. Booted the Mac with the drive attached and turned on and then ran Disk Warrior on it. This fixed it.
2. Disk Utility could also see it but I did not use anything there. There is an option to Mount the drive in Disk Utility.
3. Update the firmware in the drive. http://www.lacie.com/support/drivers/ puts you to the page with the Firmware update tool on it.
4. Email La Cie for an answer. I didn't do that either
