Asus GTX 660 Problem - No display

Just came home and booted up my desktop. I heard it power up and windows start, but no display on the monitor.
It was connected with the HDMI, so I tried switching to the DVI cable. Still no display.
To rule out the monitor I brought over my TV and tried that (via HDMI and DVI) - still no display.
So I opened up the PC and checked power was getting to the GPU - the power light on the GPU is on and the fans are spinning.
I took the GPU out and tried re-starting the computer with the HDMI connected to the motherboard on-board graphics. The PC started up and the display works fine.
So it seems it's either the GPU or the PCI slot or the power to the GPU??
Can anyone give me some troubleshooting advice please. All components are only a few months old.
