So, I'm looking into upgrading to a new graphics card in the near future. I've been looking at 7970s and 680s. My first question is, which should I get on a price/performance basis. Also something to keep in mind is I'm running three monitors currently using Eyefinity. Secondly, would it be worth waiting for the next generation of cards to come out? It would cause me serious heartburn to go out and buy one of these just to have the 8970 or 780 come out in a few months. And lastly, I currently have never strayed from ATI for graphics cards so I've never had to ask this, but will Nvidia cards be usable on my motherboard coming from an ATI card? I only ask because I know that motherboard compatibility with CPUs is a factor at times.
And in case it's needed here's my current setup:
AMD Phenom 980 BE @3.8GHZ
12GB of Corsair DDR3
Sapphire 5870 2GB Eyefinity 6 Edition
I'm not sure on my motherboard model but I know it's an MSI
750W Corsair PSU
Thanks ![]()
