Hi, I have the Dell Studio 1558 which has had many known problems with over heating. I have quite recently took the laptop apart and gave the CPU fan a full clean but I want to see my other options for a CPU fan/heatsinks. If anyone could post some links to where i could find a better one to upgrade my laptop I would be very grateful

Sorry but the choice of fans is severely diminished so let's go over our options.
1. Use better heatsink compound. I won't list such because it's a well worn topic
2. Did you consider that for gaming the i7 isn't the bomb? That is, I'm sure you read this.

I like the i7 but for those that game I suggest they reconsider the i5.
3. Now watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat. I've been able to stabilize i7 laptops by limiting the number of cores in Windows. The i7 should default to 8 so I set it to 6 and for gamers they barely see the difference except the machine may not lock up now.

It's not very noisy and I've had it for only 5 months and it's on almost every day. The really nice touch is you can move the fans around underneath for what you think is the best positions.

while wandering the web.
I have a similar unit by Cooler Master with only 2 fans (movable) but rheostat. You can change the incline of the base and it has two stops that keep the laptop from sliding off the stand.
