Monitor options Samsung s27b550v and Dell s2440L

I recently bought the Dell S2440L from BestBuy for 199. The picture quality is great but I was ticked off by the 6ms response time. So I went online and saw the Samsung S27B550V, which has a 2ms response time, for 240. I mainly use it for movies and playing video games like Battlefield 3. Is it worth the little extra to return the Dell for the Samsung?

Most of those don't accept anything more than 60 FPS or HZ video. We know this is true for HDMI hookups so how could a 2mS time help?

That's true but HDMI limits us to about 60.

60Hz works out to be 16.67 mS. So to get from frame to frame we only need that much response time. How would lower numbers make it any faster?

For HD contents like movies, response time won't make a difference. But for video games, response time should make motions smoother in theory.
Anyone have experience with these two monitors?

Since a HDMI connection limits the frame rate, that 2mS could actually make it worse since we'll have to put the image back up INSIDE THE MONITOR with more circuitry. So instead of the image fading out like it did, it may be worse than before.

I'm guessing you didn't know about the frame rate limit.

It may take a few rereads to get your head around it all.

If you like the image quality on the Dell I doubt the 6ms will be an issue.
