Hi! I have noticed this article http://bizcovering.com/business/diamonds-womens-best-friend-or-a-new-advanced-material-for-computers/ which describes that it's possible to produce super fast processors made by DIAMOND that can reach unbelievable frequencies without the need of cooling systems in near future!!!!
Can you imagine this great performance without noisy fans????? Can you imagine that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think that is really possible????????

Diamond material has been done before. It was about 1990 when we did this in some military application. You're getting hyped on something that was done before.

Hi Bob i mentioned that this article describes the potential to have a diamond-made CPU in our PCs very soon and this is that surprised me. Of course i know that diamond material was used for research and military purpose but it seems that there is a big potential even for you to have a CPU made by synthetic diamond in some years...

We needed to get more heat out in a small device. The custom device was on diamond rather then silicon.

This is not new in any way and reading the article I see nothing new from when we did such such in 1990.

Which brings up a good point. If we reach back in time to dust off an old idea, could we pass it as something new to those that didn't know?

Is it old that "Apollo Diamond" succeeded to create a synthetic diamond using CVD, is it old that scientists make conductive channels in synthetic diamonds using proton beams or is it old that Japanese government funds diamond-semiconductors research programs for electronics since 2003??? The idea of blending diamonds with computers comes from 1990 but it seems that the main attempts to use diamonds in realistic applications for computers it is matter of near future.
