hdd smart concerns

i ran crystal disk info(portable version) (why? this thread)
and my main hdd showed some intersting results i've been monitoring and the re-allocation count isn't going up but is firm at 100.
all data:
there's more system info in the linked thread(windows 7 backup failure)

In the ideal world the reallocate count will be zero.
In the real world it's not uncommon to see some value in that field.

Keep in mind the higher the value the slower your hd is getting.
How high is too high?........unknown.

If that hd is under warranty I'd contact the maker and have a chat.
With a little luck you might get a free swap out.

which is designed to analyze the disk for trouble spots. Any need to relocate data to spares is a bad sign. The purpose for this technology is to attempt to allow you a chance to replace the disk before actual data is lost or failure occurs. Consider doing this soon...the sooner the better.

tried the drive fitness test

could hot get hitachi drive fitness test to work no matter what i did tried ata only(drive list empty)
same for ata and scsi no matter the controller driver i chose

What I consider more important is that folk keep copies of what they can't lose on something else.

Has anyone mentioned that we only lose what we didn't backup?

It's not a matter of if these fail, but when.

i used comodo backup to mirror the drive partitions and mbr to usb backup drive
so i am 100% backed up and none of it is locked into a proprietary system either
