I know this is kind of very simple querry the CNET staff would be adressing, but well, for me this time, it is becoming rather an irritating problem!
I just bought an iBall Lappie Piano 423(USB 2.0, 4-port HUB) to be able to connect my external HDDs and Pen Drives easily without the need to be moving my hand to the back of the cabinet in all that wirey mess, when I know those front USB ports have given up already!
But all I'm able to connect to it are either Pen Dirves, or USB input devices such as my GamePad. The problem is - MY EXTERNAL HDD IS NOT BEING READ BY THE HUB! The power-LED of the HDD keeps on blinking(which I let happening for almost 20 minutes wondering it might be read). But my Windows never showed any External HDD connected, although as I said Pen Drives and Gamepad are working fine. I have simply connected the USB Hub cord to my Cabinet's USB Port. Note - The USB Port of my cabinet to which I've connected the HUB is able to read the External HDD if I connect it directly to that port, but unable to do so when connected to the HUB. I wanted to ask is this any sort of power problem? The Hub is given with a 'pin-port' also, but I got no power cord with the hub, so I'm unsure whether to plug any power into it or not. Or is it my PC's Power Box supplying less than required power? Since all the 4 ports of the Hub were able to successfully read Pen Drives, the hub should be fine, right? I'm totally confused!
