Hi to you all.
Looking for a bit more advice, Google don't have the answer.
Ok i wanted to know will a Pentium 3 ECC processor work in a normal home desk top pc, or is it the same as it is for memory / Ram, non ECC only, does an ECC mater on a processor ? .

You have an much older P3 cpu, the real question is do you have a mtrbd. that actually accepts one? Unless, you want to play, anything gained from such a cpu is better spend on a P4 type cpu.
If you want to know the specs of P3 cpu, wipe away all glop from its cpu case and find the product#. That will provide the direct Intel specs it supports. Intel support website for looking for that stock# should lead to specs.

Hi again.
Thanks for your reply's, but i still dont know if an ecc processor will work in a none ecc motherboard, if i had to guess i would think no, but not sure.

Way back then the p3 with ecc would work with both ecc and non-ecc sticks of RAM. And there is more to this than I will write today. That is, we have the ECC on the cache of the CPU and we have the motherboard chipset ECC for the main sticks of RAM.
Why do we need to know this?
