Western Digital HDD intalled on HP Pavilion a6500f to work o

My HP pavilion a6500f motherboard came preinstalled with WD 500 Gb HDD connected to an HP Motherboard, but the computer recently crashed and is basically unusable, I want to take out the data from the WD HDD but the only machine that I have (spare) is a Dell Dimension e310, which is kind of old compared to the HP. I changed the 512 Mb sysytem memory with the 4 Gb that came with the HP. I just want to be able to take all the data out from the hard Drive and put it into my 1Tb Western Digital External hard Drive, any idea how to configure the WD HDD?

We add the WD 500 GB drive to the system as another drive and ALL THE FILES with a little work are available.


But maybe, and I'm guessing here is you wanted to move the Operating System too and use the Operating System and all the old installed applications? You didn't write that.
